Admittedly, I've looked at the Kubota site enough to reach stalker level by any network administrator... however, it wasn't until a recent small gathering for photographers in Seattle that I had the opportunity to hear praises, and see a known customer's results of your products. Sharlane Chase, and Susie Hamidi spoke highly of your workshop and were almost drooling over your Tools. Susie shared her website with us to show the images she'd used Kubota Tools to save and to enhance. I was stunned. I mean, both these ladies pack a whallop with a camera, but after Susie's dialogue and "behind the scenes stories”, I knew immediately these products were ones that I'd not regret purchasing. In the last week, I've purchased Artistic Tools Volumes I & 2, and also the Sloppy Borders Pak. Ohhhh very, very nice! For fifteen years, I've worked in the software industry in a variety of roles such as installation consultant, QA analyst, technical educator, and technical project leader. I've seen some horrific documentation, and equally horrific examples of customer service. Because of this, I was elated when I found a technical business that have managed to provide quality products and service, it speaks a lot for every member of the company. Amber was a jewel to work with on the phone, and your products are just wonderful! With great joy, I have recommended you to a number of photographers already this past week. I'm pretty much self-taught in Photoshop, photography, and almost anything artistic. I'm good, but I suspect I'm also at the ham-fisted stage. After I make a correction, I find it's usually best to cut back on the opacity and/or fill or tone down the change to the level. I've been applying the Actions and subtracting the results from the original photograph. This highlights the changes and lets me know the Action does nothing for that picture. Then I can go back and see what the Action accomplished. I'm learning new skills and subtlety in the process. Thanks. Can't wait for everything else to arrive! By the way, originally, I only planned on buying the Lightroom® Workflow Tutorial. I spotted it in an email from the Rangefinder/AfterCapture folks. Photography is something I do on the side and I now have two customers--only a couple hundred bucks between them, but they're my first paying shoots. Spending $1K for everything was scary. I have written some actions by myself and I know where to find some for free on the net. I was somewhat sure when I hit the "buy" button and became convinced the purchase had been foolish after hitting the buy button. What I've seen so far convinces me the purchase was what I needed right now. I'll be able to process images more quickly and do a better job in the process.
